Former prison inmate explains the new slavery system in America and how it involves African American Men.
According to Wikipedia… A private prison or for-profit prison is a place in which individuals are physically confined or incarcerated by a third party that is contracted by a government agency. Private prison companies typically enter into contractual agreements with governments that commit prisoners and then pay a per diem or monthly rate, either for each prisoner in the facility, or for each place available, whether occupied or not. Such contracts may be for the operation only of a facility, or for design, construction and operation.
As a black community we need to find out which local representative is attached to the growth of private prisons and hold them accountable. It is a never ending cycle i.e. the tax payer pays for the prisoner to be there at a premium price and these private prison corporations pays a portion of the profits to your local representative’s campaign. In addition the corporation gets a tax break for making a donation to a non-profit organization.
